Flexible ceramic pad heaters
Our flexible ceramic pad heaters, or FCP’s, are manufactured using high grade nickel chrome (NiCr) 80/20 19 strand wire, and insulated using sintered alumina oxide beads, giving flexibility and increased high heat transfer capability. The choice of either camlock or dinse connector is used to terminate each tail.
Each cold tail is constructed from low resistance multi-strand 212 nickel and butt welded to the heater core wire as standard, eliminating junction failure often seen in lower quality heaters and giving complete reliability and trouble-free on-site service. For enhanced ease and end user safety, a white marker bead is used to indicate the start of the cold tail.
The FCP heater has a working temperature capability of up to 1050°c, although this can be increased if required, as many of our heaters can be manufactured using a higher temperature core wire upon request.
Designed for pre and post weld heat treatments, our range of ceramic pad heaters will function efficiently whether they are used as a curved or flat application and are available in an extensive list of sizes with voltages ranging from 30 volts through to 255 volts.
If you require any special heating configuration, voltage or power rating, we can provide you with a heating element custom built to meet your exact needs.
- Heater is flexible across dimension ‘A’
- When ordering or requesting information, please state dimension ‘A’ first
- Most sizes of our standard 30, 60 and 80V ceramic pad heater range are available in a spreader mat version. When enquiring or ordering please use the prefix ‘S’ against the appropriate ceramic pad heater reference number, for example – ART S 0171.
